RoadPeace Befriending
What is a RoadPeace Befriender?
A RoadPeace Befriender is a specially trained volunteer who offers understanding, kindness, and a listening ear to anyone affected by a road crash.
Befrienders are there to walk alongside those who are grieving or struggling offering time, empathy, and gentle support when it’s most needed.
Through shared understanding and compassion, Befrienders help people feel heard, less alone, and supported as they begin to find a way forward after loss or trauma.
Nearly 1 in 5 people we support are inspired to become befrienders themselves.
When I was at my lowest, my befriender gave me a kind of support I couldn’t find anywhere else. They truly understood my pain, listened without judgment, and made me feel seen again.
